About the Championship

The City Dance Championship, the most local of tango tournaments, draws the attention of city dwellers and visitors alike since it takes place in the natural venue of Buenos Aires tango dancers par excellence: the milongas. The competition will feature the already established categories of “Salon Tango” and “Milonga”, as well as an innovation of this new edition: the “Waltz” category.

ENTRY

Entry to the City Dance Championship is free of charge. Couples are required to enrol between 30 April and 24 May 2009 up until one hour before the beginning of the competitions, at the venues (milongas) established by the Organisers.

The enrolling couple must be made up of amateurs of both sexes of at least 18 years of age and at least one of them must be a native or a resident of the Autonomous City of Buenos Aires.

Both participants must show their ID (DNI, CI, LE or Passport) at the time of enrolment.

Important: All the information provided at the time of clearance to participate in the qualifying stage will be considered a sworn statement. Any deliberate omission or falsification of information of any of the participants involved will be penalised by disqualification from the competition.

TICKETS

Tickets can be purchased on the same day of each performance at the established venues and their price will range between $10 and 20$ (Argentine pesos), except for those milongas which are admission free
